Romanza Interior Design Brings Personalized Collaboration to 4th Avenue North Estate

In a private residence recently completed by London Bay Homes on 4th Avenue North in Naples, Romanza Interior Design Senior Design Director Jennifer Stevens collaborated with the client to create a dream home designed in an entertaining spirit, full of well thought out details.

Inspired by the architectural approach of London Bay Homes ‘design director, Michael Faulhaber, Ms Stevens’ interior design blends the owner’s preferences for contemporary furnishings with transitional backgrounds, throughout the three-bedroom home and three and a half bathrooms.

“We blended the two styles in harmony to create elegant spaces and beautiful moments throughout the home,” Ms. Stevens said.

White linen walls serve as a neutral backdrop for rich materials, such as the wide-plank European oak flooring laid straight in a warm gray tone and the handmade wall coverings used throughout.

Contributing to the home’s cozy feel and contemporary style, a two-story fireplace creates a spectacular architectural feature in the large room complemented by generously-sized comfortable seating and a creamy palette.

Another design layer throughout the home is an eclectic line of standout light fixtures. A pair of custom sized chandeliers in a combination of smoke black and burnished silver finish unifies the great room and dining areas. Additionally, in the master bedroom, the whimsical light fixture with polished silver frame and frosted white glass completes the aesthetic of the suite.

Ceiling treatments also add interest throughout the home, including lighted floating beams in the great room, a backlit tray ceiling above the island, and coffered ceilings in the master bedroom and office.

The depth of the house allowed for ample outdoor living space and a swimming pool – items that were high on the owner’s “must have” list. The creation of a multi-level bar near the outdoor kitchen met couples’ need for a “distribution space” for entertainment. Ms. Stevens selected Crypton plush indoor and outdoor furniture for the outdoor living space. The backyard focal point features a destination foyer with an oversized built-in seating area for large gatherings. Nearby, a trellis and a fountain wall add an element of discovery.

“It’s laid back, comfortable and extremely livable. The couple have grown children who visit them frequently, so they wanted a place where people can relax and have fun, ”Ms. Stevens said.

A functional workspace was also a priority, requiring the convenience of an adjoining office. “They wanted a shared office space in their new home,” Ms. Stevens said. “We were able to design a custom office for him and one for her, tailored to their needs. He uses two computer screens, so he wanted a more open design with lots of natural light, while she wanted more space for files and some built-in items.

In the kitchen, an oversized exotic crystal lake quartzite waterfall island with a raised bar at one end allows for additional casual seating – ideal when everyone congregates in the kitchen at gatherings.

For Ms. Stevens, one of the standout features of the home is a powder bath accented with a unique and dramatic textured glass tile, built-in custom marble sink, and striking pendant lighting.
