SCDA is a design studio seamlessly integrating architecture, interiors, landscape and product design to create holistic spatial experiences. Established in 1995 by Founding Director and Design Director Soo Chan, SCDA’s work strives for tranquility and calm qualified by space, light and structural order. The architectural expressions are distilled to capture the spiritual essence of the “place”; our work is inspired by the cultural and climatic nuances of the context; integrating the landscape, the aquatic elements and blurring the border between inside and outside. The spaces are characterized by lush gardens, streams and air wells, making a sensual engagement with the elements. A sensitivity to the inherent beauty of natural materials is expressed through the clarity of construction details and elementary architectural expression.
