Entries for the Dulux Color Awards 2022 are now open

Entries for the 36th Dulux Color Awards are now open, with design professionals invited to submit their most innovative projects demonstrating a creative use of color in the built environment.

The Dulux Color Awards 2022 are presented in categories covering the interior and exterior of residential, commercial and public spaces. Submissions are judged by a panel of recognized industry experts who assess design intent, mastery, and the overall impact of color in built projects, as well as unbuilt concepts designed by students. .

Seeing that the awards program provides an opportunity for design professionals in Australia and New Zealand to be recognized for their creativity and expertise, Andrea Lucena-Orr, Head of Colors and Communications at Dulux, said: “The The extent to which architects and designers use the color transforming effect is increasing every year and these awards highlight their understanding of color as an integral design element.

The Dulux Color Awards 2022 accepts nominations until Monday February 28, 2022 in the following categories:

1. Commercial interior – Workplace and retail

Interior paint finishes of any commercial or industrial building eg offices, studios, factories, retail stores, shopping malls.

2. Commercial interior – Public and hotel industry

Interior paintings of any commercial or industrial building, for example community centers, museums, theaters, places of worship, cafes, restaurants, fitness centers, hotels, facilities, event spaces, educational and health establishments.

3. Commercial and multi-residential exterior

Exterior paint finishes of any commercial, industrial, educational or multi-residential development establishment and / or apartment building.

4. Residential interior

Interior paint finishes of a private residence, including single and multi-residential.

5. Simple residential exterior

Exterior paint finishes of a private individual residence.

6. Student (years 1 to 6)

Painting specifications by architecture or interior design students who are currently taking or have recently completed (within the past 12 months) a course given by a recognized university or college.

Price

Each main category winner will receive AUD 1,000 in cash prizes and Student category winners will receive AUD 500.

All finalists will be considered for the Grand Prix title.

Grand Prize – Australian Participants:

The best of the show, selected from the winners of the individual categories, with the exception of the student category, will receive 5,000 AUD.

Grand Prize – Participants from New Zealand:

The best of the show, selected from the New Zealand finalists in each category except the student category, will receive NZD $ 5,000.

Nominations are encouraged by individuals, groups and partnerships, as well as those working in broader practices.

Projects must have been completed between September 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021 and may not have previously been enrolled in this scholarship program. The projects will be evaluated by a panel of industry leaders and the finalists will be announced on April 11, 2022 via the Dulux website.

The winners of the 36th Dulux Color Awards will be announced at a gala to be held at the Timberyard in Melbourne on June 1, 2022.
